The true nature of the mushroom pope (”The Voice”) revealed, Petr and his new human friend - Raphael - conspire to take them down for good! (An assassination performed by two 12 year olds can’t be that hard, right?)
When finishing this painting I thought it’d be fun to mock it up into a mid-game menu screen concept :) 🍄
Iteration work for Petr. I was taking inspiration from historical catholic vestments for his Vessel robes design, and trying to find a balance between ostentatious and innocent.
Introducing Petr, the protagonist of my Divine Decay uni project - he’s a young, recently chosen Vessel of the Voice on his first crusade up to the surface world! Unfortunately something goes… wrong, during the battle, and he’s left stranded in the wilderness, hundreds of miles from his mycellium network, and with only a human for company.
(Boy, I sure hope he doesn’t discover any divine heresies while exploring ruins on the way back that will fundamentally alter his worldview!)

The first key scene illustration from last year’s Divine Decay uni project, featuring Petr (will share soon!) receiving his missive from the Voice of the Spore 🍄✨
Exploratory thumbnails for my uni project Spore:Divine Decay from back in late 2021. It follows the story of a young boy from an underground, church-led society of mushroom people who worship a pope-like figure known as the Voice of the Spore.
The purpose of these thumbnails was to push silhouette, and establish a fashion for the underground society, getting a feel for what everyday people might look like in it. Primary inspirations were catholic vestments, and (loosely) 14th century italian fashion.
Some creature designs for a uni project last year, based in an underground society of mushroom people! (more of that coming soon 👀)
A series of quick fashion studies from uni last term :D
